Pride Parade Entry Forms Now Available

The NOLA Pride Parade is set for Sunday, June 27 beginning at 1pm. The walking parade will be led by a 2nd line band followed by one carriage with Pride Grand Marshals Steven Forster and Cathy Fox on board, then by all registered walking groups.
Entry fee is $20 and deadline for walking groups to enter is Friday, June 11. You can download the Pride Parade Entry Form for details.

2nd Line Band Forming for Pride Parade

Kent Richard is seeking GLBT musicians of all levels to form the first ever 2nd line band for the Gay community.  The band would lead the NOLA Pride Parade on Sunday, June 27 @ 1pm. Deadline to become a member of the band is Friday, June 4.

Mr. & Ms. NOLA Pride 2010 Pageant set for Sunday May 9th

The first major fundraiser for NOLA Pride is the Miss & Mr. NOLA Pride 2010 Pageant.  The pageant is  being hosted by JohnPaul's, 940 Elysian Fields Ave, New Orleans on Sunday, May 9, 4pm.  There is a $10 door donation.  The event will feature a  silent auction of several nice acquisitions. Celebrity emcees are King Cake Queen XVII Opal Masters and Satyricon Captain Tony Leggio. Limited to five contestants in each contest, slots are filling fast. If you'd like to enter, download your Miss & Mr. NOLA Pride Pageant Application  and submit with entry fee ASAP. Entry fee is $75. You can download the Miss & Mr. NOLA Pride Pageant Rules here. Each winner will receive $150 cash, crown and trophy while 1st runner-ups receive $75 cash and trophy.

Steven Forster & Cathy Fox Chosen as NOLA Pride 2010 Grand Marshals

The NOLA Pride Committee chose Steven Forster and Cathy Fox to lead festivities for the New Orleans Pride celebration as 2010 Pride Grand Marshals. Out of a field of seven male nominees and five gender identified female nominees, the committee was given backgound information on each nominee. The entire committee voted, selecting the grand marshals.

Pride Committee Meeting

NOLA Pride Committee has set NOLA Pride 2010 for June 25th -27th, 2010. Planning for the festival is currently in progress. The New Orleans LGBT Center is hosting a meeting of the NOLA Pride Committee on February 17, 2009 at 6:30pm at the center, 2114 Decatur St. Many topics are on the agenda for this meeting, including selection of Committtee and Sub Committee chairs, theme, event planning, ect. The center encourages community attendance to join the endeavor of bringing pride fest back to New Orleans!
